Acclaimed by Radio Clásica as the "ambassador of the Basque harp" and described by critics as a remarkable performer, of profound musical sensitivity and extraordinary technical mastery, harpist Claudia Besné is developing an intense and outstanding international career. Despite her youth, she has established herself as a highly promising soloist in Europe, driven by her passion to expand and bring visibility to the contemporary and lesser-known repertoire for her instrument, a mission she will continue to develop this season thanks to the prestigious support of the Gunni Johansson and Helge Ax:son Johnsons Stiftelse foundations.
Her presence as a soloist in the music scene includes performances at prestigious venues and festivals such as the Quincena Musical de San Sebastián, the Noia Harp Fest, the Fundación Juan March, and GazteKlasika, in addition to maintaining a continuous activity in music cycles in Sweden. As a central part of her artistic identity and her work to expand the harp literature, her large-scale absolute premieres stand out, such as the Cuatro Historias Gallegas for harp and string orchestra by Federico Beilinson with the Real Filharmonía de Galicia, and the Concerto for Harp and Orchestra by Aita Madina with the Andrés Egiguren Orchestra. This firm commitment to new creation remains in constant evolution, adding premieres by contemporary composers such as Anthony Sidney, Maria Suarez, Ailin Rubio, and Haizea Huegun, among others.
In the field of chamber music, she is a member of various ensembles such as Susurros Sinfónicos, Lumis Ensemble, or Duo Besné, highlighting her work in the Dúo Boreal. With this ensemble, she was awarded third prize at the Savarez-Corelli International Chamber Music Competition, and in 2026 she stars in a concert tour within the AIEnRUTa Clásicos circuit. As an orchestral musician, she has collaborated with top-tier ensembles such as the Malmö Opera, Rioja Filarmonía, and the Female Symphonic Orchestra Austria, participating in highly relevant events such as the Chigiana International Festival and the Otoño Musical Soriano.
Beyond the stage, she stands out for her charitable and educational work. She regularly participates in international charity concerts in support of education, culture, and communities affected by natural disasters. Likewise, she combines her intense concert activity with a strong teaching vocation, passing on her knowledge and passion to new generations as a teacher at the LIMUS Musikskolan.
